Architecture and setting
The gabled front uses textured ashlar, with an arched entrance porch and a cast-iron balcony. Mullions and transoms divide the windows beneath distinctive shouldered lintels. The sides use more simply treated whin rubble, concentrating architectural display on the public face.
Its story
The date 1865 places the hall within the nineteenth-century growth of public meeting and entertainment buildings. Its future has become a community concern: Auchtermuchty Theatre Group reports campaigning for its reopening and pursuing an asset-transfer application. These statements concern a proposed future, not proof that transfer or reopening has occurred.
Why it is included

Reading the surroundings
Use public streets and signed routes. Respect private houses, yards and gardens, and check arrangements before entering institutions or commercial venues.
What we know — and what remains uncertain
The council’s general venue page advertises hall hire, but the theatre group’s updates discuss reopening. These sources do not support an unqualified claim that the hall is currently available. Check directly before arranging a visit.
