Architecture and continuing use
The earlier three-storey range is joined to a lower, broad ashlar front with a pedimented centre. Tall roofs, chimneys and carefully graded levels reconcile the different building phases.
Its story
Strathtyrum developed from an earlier house into a substantial eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century seat. The estate remains privately managed alongside agricultural and sporting land.

Category A status recognises the quality of the classical composition, survival of layered fabric and importance of the estate setting.
