History

The chapel was built in 1824–26. Alexander Ross recast the interior in 1876, and the school followed in 1877. Stained glass by Jones and Willis dates from 1895–96. The successive works show how a small rural chapel was adapted and embellished over the nineteenth century.

Architecture and setting

Stugged granite walls, plate-traceried openings and a birdcage bellcote give the chapel a restrained Gothic character. The former school adds a related educational building to the group. The listing records fabric and fittings; it does not imply public access.
