Architecture and continuing use
The three-bay front rises through two storeys to an attic. Contrasting stonework outlines quoins, plinth and margins; the central pilastered doorway has a round arch and scrolled keystone, while a small round-headed light sits between the dormers.
Its story
The house belongs to Saltcoats’ early-nineteenth-century expansion beyond the harbour streets. Its classical detailing gave a compact domestic building the visual order of a larger villa; later residential history has not been inferred from the statutory record.
Why it is included
It introduces private domestic architecture and the inland growth of the town without over-sampling long commercial street groups.
