In brief
Nos 14 and 15 form a layered domestic group on West Shore. The eighteenth-century front house presents a crow-stepped gable towards the harbour; behind it, a second cottage retains a pantiled roof, sash windows and a cat-slide dormer. Their interest lies as much in the close-fitted group as in individual ornament.

Two buildings, one shore group
HES dates No. 14 to the eighteenth century and describes it as a two-storey-and-attic, three-bay building with crowsteps and a corniced doorway. No. 15 sits behind: a smaller two-storey-and-attic cottage with red pantiles, sash-and-case windows, a box fanlight and a cat-slide dormer.
Why the group matters
The designation statement emphasises group interest within the former fishermen’s housing of West Shore. This is an urban and social relationship rather than a claim that every visible detail is original. The house fronts, gables, narrow approaches and harbour edge together explain the grain of the lower village.
