Architecture and continuing use
A three-storey ashlar front combines a canted oriel, Dutch and ogee gables, a broken-pedimented doorway and former shopfront arches into a lively asymmetrical composition.

The present hotel was built in 1890 on the site of the Eagle Inn and the town fishmarket. It remains in hotel and hospitality use.
