Architecture and continuing use
A broad multi-storey elevation uses regular window rhythms, classical dressings and a strong entrance composition appropriate to a major railway hotel.
Its story
The hotel opened in 1856 as rail travel transformed Inverness into a Highland transport centre. Its long hospitality use has continued through alterations and changes of name.
