Architecture and continuing use
An asymmetrical two-storey house grows around a four-storey tower, bay windows, verandas, shaped gables and red-tiled roofs. Jacobean rooms contain Art Nouveau glass and crafted furnishings.
Its story
Textile wealth enabled the Paton family to create an estate in which accomplished architecture, furnishing and landscape formed a single composition. Later hospitality use preserved the mansion as the estate centre.
Why it is included
Category A architectural quality, distinguished interiors and association with Alloa's textile wealth make Inglewood a major domestic counterpart to Kilncraigs.
What to notice
- Tower and shaped gables against the tree-lined grounds.
- Coupled-column entrance porch.
- Art Nouveau glass within Jacobean rooms.
Reading the surroundings

What we know — and what remains uncertain
HES dates the design around 1900 while the operator gives completion in 1901; both are retained as compatible stages.
