Architecture and continuing use
The Gothic school extends across eight bays in single- and two-storey ranges. Buttresses, gablets, large transomed windows and crenellated porches animate the red rubble exterior, while the interior retains top-lit stairs and a marble memorial to former pupils.
Its story
Built on glebe land for £6,000, the school opened in August 1879 and was enlarged in 1909. Its war memorial was renovated in 2000; after educational use ended, planning consent supported conversion to flats and a house.

Category B listing recognises an unusually elaborate School Board building with clear phases of expansion, surviving interior planning and a memorial linked to its pupils.
