
Brechin’s Victorian terminus survives as the operating heart of a volunteer heritage railway to Bridge of Dun.

Architecture and continuing use
An Italianate two-storey centre is flanked by lower ranges and screen walls. The later seven-bay platform section carries a long glazed canopy on decorative cast-iron columns and brackets.

The station opened in 1848 and expanded with railway traffic later in the century. Preservation secured the terminus and a section of line for steam and diesel services.

The Category B group combines architecture, transport history, industrial equipment and a verified living use.
