Architecture, archaeology and continuing use
A broad harled preaching church uses tall round-arched windows, a restrained classical entrance and a compact bellcote. The burial ground contains earlier memorials and fragments associated with predecessor churches.
Its story
John Simpson designed the present church in 1799 on a long-established ecclesiastical site. Medieval fragments and the burial ground preserve older layers, while Leslie Grahame Thomson’s 1953 work adapted the interior for modern worship.
