Architecture and continuing use
An irregular three-storey composition uses round towers, grouped bays, dormers and tall stair projections beneath varied roofs. Its broad seaward elevation is designed to command views and be seen from the village.
Its story
Kennedy Hunter’s 1905 hotel was enlarged almost immediately by J M Dick Peddie. It continues in its intended hospitality use on the headland.

Purpose-built tourism architecture, two notable designers, prominent setting and continuous hotel use give it strong local significance.
