Architecture and continuing use

The church has paired round-headed windows, salient buttresses and a tiled roof. A five-sided open porch marks the west entrance beneath a figure of Christ, while brick arcades, an open timber ceiling and a west gallery organise the interior.

Its story

The parish dates from 1901 and completed this permanent church in 1927. Its interwar design continued historic church forms while using exposed brick internally. It remains a functioning parish within the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh.

Why it is included

The building records the growth of Grangemouth’s Catholic community and adds an interwar religious voice to the town’s predominantly late Victorian and Edwardian civic centre.

What to notice

  • Figure of Christ placed above the entrance porch.
  • Pairs of round-headed windows between buttresses.
  • Brick arcades beneath the open timber roof.

Reading the surroundings

Check the parish’s live schedule and enter only when the church is open for worship or an announced activity. Respect services and do not treat listing as permission to visit private rooms.
