Architecture, archaeology and continuing use
Roughly squared rubble, pale dressings and varied gables create a deliberately informal composition. A rustic-pole porch, canted windows, slate roofs, finials and grouped dormers distinguish the villa from later resort development.
Its story
Pine Bank was probably built soon after the 1892 station rebuilding, when villas and visitor accommodation began to consolidate around the railway settlement. A later extension altered the rear without removing the principal historic character.
Why it is included
Category C listing recognises a good local example of the Highland estate style and an early architectural expression of Aviemore’s visitor economy.
