Architecture and continuing use

The harled three-bay front has painted margins, a recessed doorway and a wallhead pediment aligned over the centre. A rounded return negotiates the corner with Townhead beneath a curved skew.

Its story

Built in the earlier nineteenth century, the property later accommodated offices and a shop. A current commercial listing describes several office suites and a ground-floor retail unit while also noting development potential.

Why it is included

It adds modest mixed commercial fabric and a skilful corner response to the larger institutional and industrial buildings in the sample.

What to notice

  • The rounded corner and curved skew above it.
  • The doorway’s cavetto reveals and cornice.
  • The central wallhead pediment aligned with the upper window.

Reading the surroundings

Use only an entrance belonging to an open business or a pre-arranged viewing. Do not enter shared offices, stores, yard or parking areas without permission.
